The Department of Business Administration was founded in 1983 and through its continuous and sophisticated evolvement has rightfully been established as the benchmark of excellence for teaching and research in the areas of Management and Business Administration in Cyprus.
The Department has set standards of unprecedented value and thrives on the notion that knowledge acquired through the conventional teaching processes must be complemented by application experiences and critical thinking skills. A fundamental pillar of our philosophy is the preservation of the broader ethical and social principles in all aspects of Management and Business Administration.

Business Computing

The Department has set standards of unprecedented value and thrives on the notion that knowledge acquired through the conventional teaching processes must be complemented by application experiences and critical thinking skills. A fundamental pillar of our philosophy is the preservation of the broader ethical and social principles in all aspects of Computer Programming, Information Systems, Databases, Networks and their application in Business Administration.
The Department offers an undergraduate hybrid degree programme in Business Computing. Our Business Computing programme aims to provide you with a broad understanding of computer hardware and software and the applications of computers in the areas of commerce, industry and the public sector. It also provides a background in business, organisations and accounting. Wherever possible the emphasis throughout the programme is on the practical aspects of the subject material.
The necessity for good communication skills is also stressed and an important part of the programme is the Systems Analysis unit in which students are required to make oral and written reports and presentations. Furthermore, we have a ‘Cisco Networking Academy’ status, and offer their highly coveted networking courses that lead to the CCNA, CCENT and CCNP professional certifications.
Whilst the course structure ensures that students develop the necessary level of understanding and skills in the relevant areas of computing, it also seeks to develop a sound knowledge of the Business operation and structures within which Computing technologies are applied. The options available permit the orientation of studies towards the more technical areas of information systems and computers in organisations or management aspects of business organisations.
